From Foster(ed) Care to Top Attorney ~ Mrs. Moore is #BlackGirlMagic

Interviewed By Charron Monaye

Welcome to our "Get Out Of Your Own Way" series, where we are inspiring, motivating, encouraging, you to LET GO, and LIVE LIFE!! This week I want to introduce you to a woman who was given nothing but a bucket of "lemons".... but instead of allowing life to remain sour.. she made "Strawberry Lemonade"!!!

Toni Moore is a first-generation college student who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and attended the Temple University Beasley School of Law. Toni is a licensed attorney in the States of Pennsylvania and New Jersey; attained an Ll.M. in Taxation, Certifications in Group Insurance and Retirement Benefits; teaches Nonprofit Compliance, Public Policy and Super Soul Leadership and previously maintained an insurance license, mortgage broker’s license as well as Series 6, 63 and 26 Investment Licenses.

A True #BossedUp Woman of God! When did this journey of being an attorney and entrepreneur start for you?

I have always been on a journey to live better, greater and more than my realities.  As a child, I first ran away from home when I was about 8 years old.  So the spirit was there.  But it wasn’t until I was about 39 when I found out that my daddy wasn’t my daddy that I committed to decreeing, declaring and designing the life I wanted.

So I read that you have a “7 Step Live Your Dreams Formula” that helps women tap into their brilliance, speak boldly and create their most beautiful dreams. Can you share 2 of those steps?

  1. The first step is to take an Assessment of your life--good, bad, strengths, weaknesses, triggers, obstacles, positioning, where you want to be and what you have to do to get there.
  2. The second step is to visualize the life you want.  Who, what, where and why?
  3. For a bonus, the next step is determined HOW can you get from where you are to where you want to be.

Legally Chic Services! Tell us about your services and what clientele do you service?

Legally Chic Services is a boutique firm that caters to mission-driven who want to monetize their brilliance, defy their reality and leave a blessed legacy.  We help clients form, monetize, optimize and strategize their business goals.  And we also help clients secure their legacy through estate planning and trust development services.

You are an attorney and entrepreneur. Do you feel it is necessary for individuals to have more than one income stream? Why or Why Not?

It depends.  Some individuals can only do one thing at a time so I would never suggest that they change their life and become multi-dimensional IF they are not comfortable.  However, for those individuals, such as myself, who are brilliant, organized and entrepreneurial in spirit, I strongly suggest that they seek to see where their curiosity leads and to monetize their gifts, talents and abilities throughout the in between.

Now after hearing your story on your “Boss Up Radio”, I must applaud you for being that child who took “lemons” and made “strawberry lemonade” because you clearly are not the statistic society would have label you to be? What motivated you to become bigger and greater than you circumstance?

I met some people who hurt me which kept me stuck in life sabotaging myself.  These people were not apologetic for doing what they did. Instead, they looked past me.  I realized that I was a character in their story that they completely forgot about.  Once I realized that the pain, trauma, trials and tribulations of being wounded, abused and ignored didn’t kill me, I reclaimed my life, my story AND my legacy of ‘happily ever after.’ Once a person reclaims their power to live the life they want, they stop asking for permission and become unstoppable in speaking, seeking and seizing what they need to achieve their dreams.

For children who are witnesses to abuse, in foster care, or any other issues, what would you pour into their spirit to help them seek their purpose, prove society wrong, and know that they can be whatever they desire?

I have spoken to children who are witness to abuse and wasn’t able to get through to him because who listens to a person who says you deserve better, keep your head down and do whatever it takes to be the best you can?  But I say it anyway in hopes that someone hears me when I tell them about the welts, about the tears, about the dreams swallowed and never spoken.  Seemingly, we have to find our own way through the haze.  Trust, I’ve tried to stop the individuals from colliding with destiny.  But some fates can’t be changed until the hearer becomes the doer who positions themselves to boss up no matter the cost.

What advice would you give someone who is in their own way and preventing themselves from achieving more? Give us 4 action steps.

  1. Believe bigger--stop looking at your realities and start focusing on your dreams
  2. Create an Action Plan - no action, no traction, no manifestation
  3. Learn the lesson--good, bad or indifferent, there is a lesson to be learned when you experience failure
  4. PUSH Through!

How can we support, work, or contact you! for business/legal services or for empowerment to live your best life now!

Can you relate? Are you in your own way? The amazing thing that I love about Mrs. Moore's journey is that she did not allow her circumstances or limitations define her or stop her! She took her past and evolved into a BOSS WOMAN!!! There is life after, all you have to do is believe that you are deserving, worthy, and determined to let NOTHING STOP YOU!!

Peace & Blessings!!
