Kendrick Lamar Gets Engaged

Kendrick Lamar recently appeared on Power 105. 1 ’s “The Breakfast Club” radio show to promote his new critically acclaimed album, To Pimp a Butterfly.

In addition to promoting his album, Lamar also confirmed that he proposed to his high school sweetheart, Whitney Alford. 

"Yeah, definitely. I'm loyal to the soil,” he said. 

Kendrick and his now fiancee, Whitney have been together for ten years. Kendrick explained that he is loyal to those that have been loyal to him and he felt it was time to take things with Whitney to the next level.

Though Kendrick and Whitney have been very private about their relationship to the media, Kendrick has dropped a few tidbits about his longtime love in past interviews.

"I wouldn't even call her my girl," Lamar previously Billboard. “That’s my best friend. I don't even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion—she's somebody I can tell my fears to.”
