Janet Jackson Postpones World Tour to Start a Family
On Wednesday April 8, Janet Jackson took to Facebook to announce her decision to postpone her world tour following her decision to start a family with her husband Wissam Al Mana.
Miss Jackson posted a Facebook video message apologizing to her fans and revealing that her tour would be postponed indefinitely.
“Hey, you guys,” she began the video message. “First, I just want to thank all the fans for coming out and seeing the show … We’re in the second leg of the tour, and there has actually been a sudden change.”
She continued, “I thought it was important that you would be the first to know: My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour.”
Following the video message, Jackson’s fans were sent an email explaining that because the tour was postponed indefinitely, they would not be issued a refund because it is not considered an official cancellation.
Naturally, fans were outraged by this news and took to social media to slam Janet for “stealing their money” which prompted Janet’s camp to issue another statement revealing that fans would in fact receive a refund.
"The Janet Jackson Unbreakable Tour in North America will be postponed until 2017,” Janet’s rep said in an official press release. “New dates will be announced at a later time, and tickets will be honored for the re-scheduled dates. Refunds are also available at the point of purchase. Stay tuned to JanetJackson.com and LiveNation.com for further info.”
