‘Dear White People’ to Become Netflix Series

Congratulations to the creators, cast, and crew of “Dear White People!”

The critically acclaimed film which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2014 is being turned into a Netflix series that is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2017.

The series will be produced by Lionsgate and will feature ten 30-minute episodes based on the film which follows a group of African-American students as they navigate through an Ivy-League university and deal with issues of race, privilege, sexual identity, and power.

The film’s writer and director Justin Simienwill come on board to write for the series and direct it’s first episode.

It is unclear whether the film’s original cast including Tyler James Williams, Tessa Thompson and Dennis Haysbertwill appear in the series.

Either way, we can’t wait to watch!

What are your thoughts on “Dear White People” the series?
