Michael B. Jordan recently wrote an op-ed piece for Entertainment Weekly  to respond to critics who have slammed him for playing Johnny Storm in  the upcoming “Fantastic Four” film.

Michael will play Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch in the film and many critics have slammed the idea of Michael, an African American actor,  playing a traditionally caucasian comic book character.

Now that the critics have spoken, Michael is saying his piece and urging Internet trolls to open up their minds and embrace the diversity that director Josh Trank is bringing to the “Fantastic Four” cast.

“Some people may look at my casting as political correctness or an attempt to meet a racial quota, or as part of the year of “Black Film.” Or they could look at it as a creative choice by the director, Josh Trank, who is in an interracial relationship himself—a reflection of what a modern family looks like today,” Michael wrote, adding, “To the trolls on the Internet, I want to say: Get your head out of the computer…this is the world we live in.”

Michael also echoed the comments that some critics made about his participation in the upcoming “Fantastic Four” film.

He revealed  that critics were saying,”A black guy? I don't like it. They must be doing it because Obama's president’"and 'It's not true to the comic.”
