It appears so!
Whitney Houston’s aunt Pat Houston has reportedly partnered with Hologram USA to create and develop a hologram of the late singer.
Once the hologram is fully created, it will make its debut during a live show at an undisclosed U.S. venue and FilmOn will distribute the content worldwide.
The show will reportedly feature the Whitney hologram singing her greatest hits and interacting with fans in the crowd.
“It’s a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come. I look forward to the partnership,” Pat Houston said in an official statement.
Hologram USA and FilmOn CEO, Alki David also released a statement saying that he is confident that the Whitney Houston Hologram will entertain her fans and be a compelling experience.
“The opportunity to help share [Whitney’s] spectacular gifts with the world again is exactly what I hoped for when I built the hologram business. We’ve got technology that’s causing a seismic shift in the entertainment industry, and a wonderful partnership with Pat Houston and the estate. I’m confident we’ll create the ultimate celebration of Whitney’s amazing artistry,” David said.
Though the science and technology behind creating holograms is fascinating, making actual holograms of deceased celebrities is a bit creepy. What’s wrong with letting the artist rest in peace and celebrating them through their previous works and accomplishments?
