Last week, Zonnique Pullins, 20, the stepdaughter of rapper T.I. was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlantafor carrying a gun.
She was stopped and arrested after a .380 Ruger semi-automatic pistol was found in her purse while going through the security checkpoint at the airport.
Soon after, Zonnique was arrested, but she was later released the same day.
Following her arrest, Zonnique and her family members spoke out about what they are calling a careless “mistake.”
Zonnique explained that because ofthe latest tragedies surrounding Orlando, her parents purchased a gun for her so that she can be safe at all times. At the time of her arrest, Zonnique forgot that her registered gun was in her purse.
"I know that's really irresponsible on my part, but it was really just an honest mistake,” Zonnique said in a recent interview. “I was at home, rushing to get to the airport, and I was throwing everything in my purse. The gun is really, really small. It looks like a toy gun. It was just at the bottom of my purse. When I went through security check, I was like 'Oh I forgot it was in there.'
Zonnique’s cousin also chimed in about the incident and commented on the OMG Girlz singer’s “cute” mugshot.
