Homemade Mashed Yams

One of my favorite things to eat at home is mashed yams. Instead of mashed potatoes is mashed yams.

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add yams and cook until tender, 20 to 30 minutes.
  2. With an electric mixer on low, blend potatoes, slowly adding milk, about 1/2 a cup at a time. Use more or less to achieve desired texture. Add butter and your favorite guacamole  and hummus the mix  Blend until smooth. Serve warm.


  • Tip
  • Aluminum foil can be used to keep food moist, cook it evenly, and make clean-up easier
